A ClearGov Case Study
Metropolitan District of Pueblo West, a fast-growing special district in Southern Colorado, needed a better way to explain its complex budget and unique funding structure to residents. With attendance at public meetings declining, the District wanted a clearer, more accessible way to communicate how public funds are used. ClearGov helped address this challenge with a Financial Transparency Center designed to present financial data in a visually compelling, easy-to-understand format.
Using ClearGov, Pueblo West now shares five years of revenue and expenditure data online, along with budget updates and smaller line items specific to special districts. The District promotes the Transparency Center on its website, in its annual report, and on social media, while also using ClearGov’s dynamic charts internally during budget season. According to the case study, the result is greater transparency and easier resident access to financial information in real time, removing the need to attend meetings just to stay informed.
