The City of Shawnee, KS, wanted a more comprehensive and collaborative budgeting process to replace a manual Excel-and-Word workflow filled with cutting, pasting, and broken links. As the city also looked to move away from a nearly 300-page PDF budget book, it turned to ClearGov for a simpler, more modern way to manage budgeting and improve how the budget was presented to staff, council, and citizens.
ClearGov implemented its Operational Budgeting, Digital Budget Book, and Transparency products for the City of Shawnee, helping the city load data quickly, reduce manual work, and create an interactive, website-based budget book. The switch was well received by finance staff and departments, took only a few days to migrate existing data, and gave leadership a better way to explain priorities and engage the public.
