The City of Ridgefield, WA, one of the fastest-growing communities in Washington, needed a less labor-intensive way to maintain public financial transparency. After struggling with a previous online transparency portal that was difficult to build, update, and keep current, the city’s finance team found the process too time-consuming for its small staff and eventually had to take the site down.

In 2018, Ridgefield partnered with ClearGov to launch a new Transparency center that ClearGov helps maintain by uploading the city’s financial data on a monthly basis. The result has been a much more efficient, always-current portal that has reduced calls and inquiries, improved access for council and residents, and freed the city to focus on next steps like project pages and department dashboards.
