The City of Balch Springs partnered with ClearGov to address a growing need for public transparency after consolidating the DC6 Municipal Utility District and seeking a simpler way to share financial information with council members and residents. Led by CFO Bianca Redmon, the city wanted an online solution that was budget-friendly, easy to understand, and accessible to an aging, not-always-computer-savvy population.

ClearGov implemented an online Financial Transparency Center for the City of Balch Springs, including an open checkbook feature to help meet Texas Comptroller Transparency Stars requirements. As a result, the city earned a Financial Services Transparency Star and gained a more user-friendly way to present spending and revenue data online; ClearGov’s project pages are now also being considered to support future Economic Development recognition.
