A ClearGov Case Study
Christian County, Missouri partnered with ClearGov to modernize its budgeting process. Before adopting ClearGov, the county relied on 70–80 Excel spreadsheets and extensive manual work, which made budgeting time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to track. The end result was also hard for citizens to understand, since the budget was presented as a collection of spreadsheet numbers.
ClearGov’s Transparency solution was already in use, and Christian County added ClearGov’s Operational Budgeting to replace messy spreadsheets and streamline budget creation. The new system improved collaboration, sent automatic reminders to keep department heads on track, and saved the county a significant amount of time. Christian County Auditor Amy Dent said ClearGov effectively bought the county 2–3 years before needing additional staff, and the county is now considering ClearGov’s Capital Budgeting solution as well.
