Relias, formerly WhiteCloud Analytics, provides a healthcare learning platform that uses personalized learning, performance metrics, and assessments to help organizations improve care and reduce costs. As the company moved from a HIPAA-compliant private data center to AWS for better financial flexibility, it found that cloud security and compliance controls were not strong enough to protect sensitive PHI, so it needed a partner with healthcare compliance expertise. ClearDATA was brought in to help address those gaps.

ClearDATA implemented its Automated Safeguard platform with a DevOps approach to automated compliance, securing Relias’ AWS environment as EC2 instances were provisioned and destroyed. The solution included automated security controls, a compliance dashboard, and event-driven monitoring with tools like CloudWatch Events, Lambda, Kinesis, and API Gateway. As a result, Relias was able to innovate faster in the cloud while relying on ClearDATA for security and compliance, improving agility and maintaining a reliable, repeatable compliance posture.
