United Airlines, a major U.S. carrier with more than 90,000 employees and thousands of daily flights, faced poor visibility into consumables across terminal storage rooms, leading to delays and customer-impacting shortages. During consultations they engaged Clear Spider to provide an inventory kiosk management solution (the Clear Spider Kiosk) that would offer 24/7, scan-in/scan-out capabilities, unlimited users, keyword search and real-time inventory data.
Clear Spider implemented a highly configurable Kiosk system with built-in scanners, user ID tracking, automated restock notifications and inventory analytics, deployed with onsite setup and user training. The Clear Spider solution delivered real-time inventory visibility, eliminated stock-outs, reduced the need for cycle counts and improved productivity—8 kiosks were installed across the pilot terminals, handling over 300 transactions per month and providing immediate updates and reorder alerts.
