Target partnered with Justin Timberlake to launch The 20/20 Experience and needed to turn that exclusive relationship into widespread consumer excitement, reinforce Target as a pop‑culture brand, and drive sales of the Exclusive Deluxe CD. Clear Channel Outdoor supported the effort using a multi‑format mix of radio stations, iHeartRadio digital properties and websites, social media integrations, and digital billboards to amplify the Target‑focused messages.
Clear Channel Outdoor implemented an integrated, multi‑platform campaign across nearly 800 stations and sites (reaching more than 100 million people) that included the first‑ever sponsored network roadblock for an album premiere, a custom Justin Timberlake iHeartRadio station, digital OOH countdowns, a national sweepstakes, live album‑release broadcasts and a 175‑station takeover. The program drove massive results: 968,000 copies sold in week one, a #1 debut on the Billboard 200, #1 iTunes in 89 countries, multiple iTunes records and the biggest first‑week sales for a male artist in over five years—making it one of Target’s top three best‑selling albums of the decade.
