Upgrading to Class to Enhance Online Learning

Universidad del Caribe (Unicaribe), a university in the Dominican Republic with nearly 29,000 students, faced challenges in providing a high-quality and accessible virtual learning experience. Their previous platform offered limited visibility of participants and required a heavy internet connection, which was problematic for students across the country. Seeking to increase engagement and control for both students and instructors, the university upgraded to Class from Blackboard Collaborate.

The solution involved upgrading to the Class platform, which provided a seamless integration with their existing Blackboard Learn system. Class delivered a more intuitive and reliable online classroom environment with features that gave teachers more control and valuable student participation statistics. As a result, Unicaribe successfully connected on-site and online students, saw over 6,000 unique users per day, and conducted sessions lasting 3.5 hours with significantly improved student and faculty satisfaction.
