A Claroty Case Study
Heritage Valley Health System (HVHS), an integrated delivery network serving Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and the panhandle of West Virginia, needed to modernize its cybersecurity after a disruptive NotPetya attack exposed major gaps in device visibility. The health system’s device data were incomplete, siloed, and outdated, making it difficult to distinguish medical from non-medical assets and slowing troubleshooting across its three hospitals. HVHS turned to Claroty Medigate for healthcare IoT security and clinical device visibility.
Claroty Medigate implemented its Core Visibility, Insights, and Anomaly Detection platform, along with Clinical Cyber Hygiene, Network Policy Management, and Clinical Device Efficiency modules. The solution improved asset inventory accuracy, enabled CVE and recall notifications, supported integration with EDR, VM, NAC, and firewalls, and allowed dynamic segmentation and better procurement decisions. As a result, HVHS significantly strengthened its security posture, improved remediation workflows and productivity, and gained more reliable device attribution and utilization data to support maintenance, planning, and supplier negotiations.
