Connected Asset Management through Real-Time Visibility at Yale New Haven Health System

Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS), Connecticut’s largest healthcare provider, needed a clearer view of its highly siloed networked assets after years of growth through acquisition and consolidation. To improve cybersecurity posture, the health system wanted a comprehensive connected asset inventory, better identification of devices that store or transmit PHI, stronger risk management processes, and more dependable asset utilization data. Claroty, through its Medigate platform, was chosen to help address these challenges.

Claroty’s Medigate solution delivered a risk-scored inventory that unified device OS/application details, security posture, serial numbers, location history, and network status into a single view. The platform automatically identified PHI-bearing medical devices, correlated vulnerabilities to impacted assets, alerted on unauthorized communications, and provided actionable remediation guidance. As a result, YNHHS is now using utilization metrics to improve PAR levels, support predictive maintenance and patient scheduling in radiology, and inform capital planning for other critical devices, while integrations and Cisco ISE-based segmentation efforts continue to advance.
