DJO Global, a medical device manufacturer focused on helping people regain natural motion, faced a costly marketing problem: quarterly DVDs sent to doctors’ offices were rarely seen by patients, wasting over $25,000 each quarter. Clarity was engaged to replace the DVDs with a branded, tablet-optimized responsive flipbook (an HTML5/CSS3 flipbook with a jQuery video player) to sit on waiting-room tablets and educate patients about devices.

Clarity implemented a custom responsive flipbook platform that lets patients swipe through videos, testimonials and device demos while enabling central push updates to every office. The solution removed the recurring DVD production and mailing waste (saving the roughly $25,000 per quarter), increased patient engagement and enhanced surgeons’ reputations as cutting-edge; technologies used included Modernizr, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and SQL Server.
