Kathmandu Metropolitan City launches 18-sensor air quality network with Clarity Movement

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) faced a severe air pollution challenge driven by urbanization and traffic, which was trapped by the city's geography. This health emergency was compounded by a lack of real-time data to effectively enforce its new Pollution Control Standards. To address this, KMC partnered with Clarity Movement to deploy its Node-S air quality sensors.

Clarity Movement provided and installed a network of 18 solar-powered Node-S sensors across strategic city locations. This solution enabled the creation of Kathmandu's first real-time air quality monitoring dashboard, providing over one million residents with access to live, hyperlocal data. The results include informed, evidence-based policymaking across city departments, targeted enforcement of vehicle emissions, and empowered citizens who can now make health-protective decisions.
