A Clarity Movement Case Study
The Higher Polytechnic Institute of Tundavala in Angola faced a significant challenge in addressing the country's growing air pollution problem. With limited governmental support and a lack of accessible data, environmental engineer Evanilton Pires needed to overcome a widespread lack of awareness and understanding of air quality's health impacts to educate students and communities. To tackle this, they partnered with Clarity Movement.
Clarity provided its Node-S air sensors, which were deployed across eight urban and rural locations to create a comprehensive monitoring network. This solution delivered real-time data that was integrated into the university's curriculum, raised public awareness, and identified pollution patterns like seasonal biomass burning. The measurable impact included empowering students with practical data, providing vital information for research, and advocating for future policy changes to improve air quality across Angola.
