Boulder County Public Health deploys 22 air monitors in the Marshall Fire burn area with Clarity Movement

Boulder County Public Health faced a significant challenge after the devastating Marshall Fire when residents returning to their homes demanded accurate, neighborhood-level air quality information. The county's existing monitoring stations were not positioned to provide data within the burn area. To address this, they partnered with Clarity Movement to deploy a network of air quality sensors.

Clarity Movement implemented a solution using its solar-powered, cellular-connected Node-S air sensors, which could be rapidly deployed without existing infrastructure. The vendor's technology enabled the installation of 22 monitors across the 6,000-acre burn area, providing real-time data. This empowered the county to inform residents via a public map and alerts, helping them make safety decisions and ultimately leading to the program's expansion into other communities.
