The Hoop Consultants, founded by former Boston Celtics scout Mike Procopio, provides scouting, player analysis and training management for NBA stars and college prospects. The business faced a tedious, time-consuming workflow—Procopio was spending hours each night rekeying handwritten notes into Word and Excel to track hundreds of players across more than 1,000 games per year, making it hard to produce timely, consolidated scouting reports.

Procopio built a custom FileMaker solution with FileMaker Go for iPad that consolidates 250+ fields of player profiles, stats, scouting reports, event registration and comparison tools. The app eliminated repetitive data entry (saving about four hours per day and cutting some users’ report prep from six hours to minutes), streamlined workouts and recruiting, and gave players and scouts faster, more actionable analysis that has supported on-court improvements for elite and rising players.
