The Travis County Fire Rescue, a fire department in Texas, faced the challenge of quickly vaccinating its large county population against COVID-19. Long wait times and inefficient paper-based registration processes at clinics were major obstacles to achieving this goal. To solve this, they turned to vendor Claris and its FileMaker platform to develop a custom application.

Claris FileMaker enabled the fire department's technology partner to build the "Vax Tracker" app in just eight days. The solution digitized registration, allowing for information to be captured on iPads and even scan driver's licenses to save time. This custom app from Claris drastically reduced registration from hours to minutes, improved vaccine administration, and allowed mobile strike teams to vaccinate an additional 200 people per day in vulnerable communities.
