A Claris Case Study
The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) faced inefficiencies and security risks from a paper-based Rheumatoid Arthritis Health Assessment Questionnaire. Paper forms ate into 15-minute outpatient appointments, led to hurried or incorrect responses, made it difficult and time-consuming to track patient history, and left sensitive records vulnerable in filing cabinets.
Using the FileMaker Platform RNHRD introduced an iPad questionnaire in the waiting room that securely transmits SSL‑encrypted data to clinicians and integrates with the hospital’s EPR. Automated scoring, patient matching and visual charts let staff see progress at a glance, freeing clinicians to spend appointment time on treatment rather than data collection, eliminating paper filing and improving data security—plans are now underway to extend the approach across other clinics.
