Reynolds Services, Inc. (RSI) is a metal-products manufacturer that grew from a single $4M plant in 1991 to three facilities and about $100M in sales. As operations expanded, paper-based workflows and spreadsheets couldn’t keep up—quarterly inventories, quality-control paperwork, shipping and production scheduling were slow, error-prone and labor-intensive, limiting RSI’s ability to respond to customer requests and scale efficiently.
RSI implemented a custom FileMaker solution across desktops and iOS devices to automate inventory tracking, production scheduling, CRM, shipping, QA/ISO audits and HR. The mobile, barcode-enabled system eliminated most paper, cut quarterly inventory labor dramatically (saving 675 collective employee hours in a day), shortened production meetings from hours to five minutes, sped customer fulfillment, and delivered rapid ROI—yielding over $100,000 in first-year benefits and enabling faster growth and a spin-off IT service business.
