Q Foundation spares hundreds from homelessness with Claris FileMaker

The Q Foundation, a nonprofit organization addressing housing insecurity, faced a monumental challenge at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic: a rapidly escalating number of residents at risk of eviction due to job losses. They needed a solution to manage the overwhelming influx of requests for emergency housing aid efficiently. To address this, they partnered with vendor Claris and utilized the Claris FileMaker platform to develop a custom application.

With assistance from Claris Partner Beezwax, a custom app was built using Claris FileMaker to automate and manage the foundation's critical processes, including organizing donations, handling donor communications, and issuing rent checks. The solution from Claris enabled the Q Foundation to process aid requests rapidly and prevent evictions, sometimes even intervening during court hearings. This resulted in hundreds of clients being spared from homelessness, allowing the foundation to scale its operations effectively to meet the surge in demand.
