Pratt & Whitney’s Asian Distribution Center at Narita handles airworthiness inspections and certification for jet engine components across the region, generating large volumes of tightly regulated inspection, certification, and personnel data. The challenge was to manage that data efficiently under strict FAA requirements while supporting multilingual interfaces and enabling rapid, local changes where the company’s global SAP system could not respond quickly.

The center has relied on FileMaker Pro for more than 14 years to run core functions—from producing airworthiness certificates to personnel administration—taking advantage of Unicode/Japanese support, easy relational design, and built‑in charting.
