Honoring Shin Ninagawa and carrying on her legacy.

Splash, Inc., a longtime Claris partner, lost its founder and CEO Shin Ninagawa in 2020. The company and the Claris community faced the challenge of honoring her mentorship, global outreach, and passion for supporting women in technology while preserving her memory and continuing the bridges she built between Japan and the rest of the world.

Using Claris FileMaker, Splash created an online memorial that let people worldwide share messages and triggered a real-time altar display in their Tokyo office, while the nonprofit WITfm established the Shin Ninagawa Memorial Scholarship to help women in the APAC region attend future Claris Engage conferences. The efforts generated global participation, kept Shin’s spirit of mentorship alive, and created a tangible scholarship to continue her legacy of empowering women in tech.
