Hey Clinic, led by Dr. Lloyd Hey, is a specialty spinal deformity practice in Raleigh serving patients worldwide. Faced with the need for highly individualized care and better tracking of patient outcomes across office visits, surgery and follow-up—and with paper notes and fragmented records limiting access in the operating room—Dr. Hey needed a secure, flexible EMR that supported intake, imaging, documentation and billing while meeting Meaningful Use requirements.

The clinic built a custom EMR called Aqueduct on the FileMaker Platform, running on desktops and iPads to manage intake, scheduling, clinical notes, X-rays, billing and secure messaging. The result: streamlined workflows, faster billing and intake, real-time access to patient charts in the OR, improved surgical processes and follow-up, easier MU compliance, and secure, shareable records that support reporting and research.
