A Claris Case Study
Conservation Initiatives, an NGO working in Kaziranga National Park, needed a better way to handle complex elephant monitoring data and tens of thousands of photos. Traditional counting methods were often biased, making it difficult to accurately track Asian elephant populations, health, movement, and long-term trends. Claris FileMaker was used to support a comprehensive photographic database for this conservation work.
Claris implemented a custom FileMaker solution that centralizes photos and field data, helps researchers identify individual elephants by unique physical features, and supports statistical population analysis and long-term monitoring. The result was a streamlined research workflow, faster identification, improved collaboration, and more reliable population estimates, helping Conservation Initiatives strengthen conservation strategies and human-elephant coexistence.
