Braun Electric Company, founded in 1945, is a heavy industrial electrical contractor serving Southern California’s San Joaquin Valley with more than 435 field workers. The company relied on paper-based job safety analyses and hundreds of SOP binders (updated every 2–3 weeks), making it difficult to keep crews current on procedures, ensure PPE and permit compliance, and synchronize field data with back-end systems.

Braun built a custom FileMaker iPad solution to digitize JSA and other workflows—permits, PPE checks, site diagrams, GPS location, alerts, offline sync and ERP integration—plus apps for mapping, weather, code access, and electronic timecards. The mobile-first system delivered real-time data to leadership, reduced paperwork and storage, and measurably improved safety (total injury rate 0.24 vs. industry 3.8; EMR 65% below average) while enabling plans to automate roughly 30 additional processes.
