BiS Valves - Customer Case Study

BiS Valves is a UK precision engineering firm (founded 1971) that designs and manufactures stainless-steel pressure and flow-control valves for global markets, mainly oil and gas. The company needed a flexible system to track each project end-to-end — parts, stock levels and automated ordering, capacity planning, invoicing and indexed drawings — but found off-the-shelf MRP packages too limiting.

BiS has used and customised FileMaker since the early 1990s, evolving it into an integrated set of systems for bills of materials, stock control, ordering, capacity planning and staff availability. The bespoke FileMaker solution automated parts ordering, improved visibility between sales and manufacturing, reduced paper, and increased productivity — delivering the flexibility BiS needs without the constraints of proprietary software.
