Case Study: Orica improves explosive product tracking and safety with Clarinox

A Clarinox Case Study

Preview of the Orica Case Study

Orica tracks explosives with 13.56MHz RFID and Bluetooth using Clarinox

Orica, a major mining explosives company, faced the challenge of electronically tracking its products while strictly managing electromagnetic fields for safety. Clarinox assisted them with a trial system to investigate the occupational health and safety implications of this tracking.

Clarinox developed a system using 13.56MHz RFID technology to identify individual products and Bluetooth to transfer that data to a central server. Their solution included a locking mechanism to prevent the simultaneous use of higher-power radios. This allowed for fast, automatic identification and tracking of handlers, positioning Orica to implement the system quickly when required.
