Cochlear builds a wireless hearing aid gateway in half the time with Clarinox

Cochlear engaged Clarinox to rapidly develop a demonstration system that would wirelessly display diagnostic information from a child's hearing aid to a carer's mobile phone. A key challenge was translating the hearing aid's proprietary ultra-low power wireless protocol into a standard format that could be used by an off-the-shelf mobile device.

Clarinox developed a prototype gateway device that acted as a translator, converting the proprietary data to Bluetooth for the mobile phone. Using their ClarinoxBlue protocol stack and modular development approach, Clarinox delivered the test unit in half the time of a conventional approach, enabling Cochlear to quickly assess the value of this innovative concept for future growth.
