Case Study: Oddschecker achieves scalable cloud growth with Claranet

A Claranet Case Study

Preview of the Oddschecker Case Study

Oddschecker makes safe bet for future growth with Claranet cloud migration

Oddschecker, the odds comparison website acquired by Sky, needed a more flexible way to handle rapid growth and highly variable demand in the fast-moving betting industry. Its on-premise data centre had reached capacity, and with limited in-house cloud expertise, the company needed help choosing the right platform and staying compliant. Claranet was brought in to support the move, with Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine as the core cloud and container services.

Claranet helped Oddschecker migrate its applications, including legacy systems and GitLab deployments, into a containerised Google Cloud environment and provided guidance on using Kubernetes at scale. The new infrastructure can now scale up and down quickly to match demand, removing capacity limits and enabling more data-driven product development. Oddschecker said the migration was completed within a 12-month timeframe and that Claranet’s input made the project work first time while also upskilling its internal team for ongoing management.
