Missguided, a fast-growing rapid fashion retailer, needed infrastructure that could keep up with its flash-sale traffic spikes and international expansion. Its existing traditional single-data-centre hosting setup struggled under sudden surges, such as a product launch that drove 47 times normal peak traffic. Missguided worked with Claranet for AWS Consulting and Managed Services to find a more scalable and flexible platform.

Claranet migrated around 170 servers into AWS in six weeks, redesigned the architecture to remove single points of failure, and introduced disaster recovery and ongoing monitoring. The new AWS setup handled a later launch with about 45 times normal peak load without queueing or delaying orders, while Amazon Aurora increased database throughput from 2 million to more than 5 million transactions per minute. Claranet’s work helped Missguided scale in seconds instead of weeks and freed the team to focus on growth.
