Policy Kitchen, developed by Foraus, is a public policy collaboration platform designed to help university students and community groups work together on policy ideas. The challenge was that email, Facebook, WhatsApp, and basic word processors made it hard to create and edit policy documents collaboratively in real time, limiting engagement and the quality of discussions. Foraus turned to CKEditor 5 to provide a familiar, Word-style writing experience built for collaborative editing.

With CKEditor 5, including real-time collaboration, Track Changes, Comments, and Media Embed, Foraus created a web-based platform where users can draft, discuss, and refine policy documents together from anywhere. The result was stronger engagement, more content production, and a new revenue opportunity: Policy Kitchen has attracted 1,300+ sign-ups and enabled policy papers built with hundreds of participants across five continents. Foraus also plans to offer Policy Kitchen as a service to other organizations, further extending the impact of CKEditor.
