Workers Defense Project mobilizes 400 supporters with CiviCRM

Workers Defense Project, an organization fighting for construction workers' rights in Texas, needed a more strategic database to help organize its diverse base of supporters and engage them in the political process against a powerful industry. They turned to the vendor CiviCRM and its CiviEvent service to better track supporter participation and outreach.

Using CiviCRM, they implemented a system to create events, manage call lists, assign outreach tasks to staff and volunteers, and track participant statuses for a key city council meeting. This resulted in the successful mobilization of over 400 supporters, which contributed to the passage of a landmark bill guaranteeing construction workers a living wage. CiviCRM helped the organization strengthen communication, keep supporters involved, and ensure fewer people fell through the cracks during recruitment.
