Case Study: Whitetail Ski Education Foundation streamlines membership and volunteer management with CiviCRM

Uniting Skiing, Volunteering and Membership Management

The Whitetail Ski Education Foundation is a parent-run non-profit ski program (Whitetail Race Team) with 100+ athletes and coaches that needed a low-cost way to manage memberships, medical info, family relationships and volunteer duties. With limited funding and frequent turnover of volunteer administrators, the organization required an online system that integrated with its Drupal website; they chose CiviCRM as the backend membership management solution.

CiviCRM was implemented (with help from the foundation’s administrator and Lattice Group) to centralize member records, track US Ski and Snowboard membership status, ages, genders, medical conditions, interests and family links, and to provide board members, coaches and administrators with secure online access. The result was a single, shared membership database that handles 100+ members, eliminated the need to email multiple spreadsheet versions, streamlined administration once volunteers were trained, and delivered measurable improvements in data sharing and operational efficiency using CiviCRM.
