Greater London Volunteering (GLV) promotes and supports volunteering across London and needed a central, easy-to-use hub for member training and events. As a small charity without in-house technical expertise, GLV faced the challenge of turning their idea into a working product that could handle event discovery, bookings, attendee management and mailing lists; the website was developed by Community IT Academy using CiviCRM on a Drupal site.
Using CiviCRM integrated with Drupal, Community IT Academy delivered a clean, professional Experts in Volunteering site that provides searchable events, effortless booking, centralized booking and attendee management, mailing-list generation and mass emailing, and resource sharing. CiviCRM’s out‑of‑the‑box capabilities kept development costs down, and back-end training allowed GLV to migrate other work into the system, improving operational efficiency and the organisation’s impact while leaving a flexible platform for future expansion.
