A CiviCRM Case Study
NAMI Louisville needed a CRM to manage registrations and donations for its annual "Walk for Recovery," which accepts $25 walk registrations (individuals or teams) and variable sponsorships of walkers/teams. They used CiviCRM as their CRM platform to support these two donation paths and to streamline fundraiser management.
Using CiviCRM, the team set up donation pages and Personal Contribution Pages (PCPs), added jQuery customizations to show or hide the $25 registration fee in the appropriate views, and created a custom query to list active PCPs for sponsors. The upgrade to CiviCRM 3.4 (which added offline PCP credits) let staff credit cash and check donations on event day, eliminating the prior need for a programmer to perform manual MySQL updates and making offline contribution processing much easier for the NAMI Louisville team.
