The Gathering of Leaders is an Episcopal clergy initiative that had grown steadily but was hampered by a communication and registration bottleneck: all event registrations and new-member invitations were handled one‑to‑one via the Director’s email, limiting scalability. To solve this, they deployed a CiviCRM/Drupal site using CiviCRM (including CiviEvent for online registration) to centralize contact data and member interactions.

CiviCRM consolidated all contacts, let members maintain their own information, supported organic interest groups, and enabled online event registration, eliminating hundreds of back-and-forth emails and the need to maintain lists in Gmail and Constant Contact. Those efficiencies freed the Director’s time and allowed The Gathering of Leaders to add an additional annual Gathering (growing from four to five per year), demonstrating measurable impact from the CiviCRM implementation.
