A CiviCRM Case Study
The Texas Archeological Society (TAS), a membership organization founded in 1929, was struggling with disjointed systems for membership management, event registration, online donations, and an online store—many transactions were handled offsite or via printed forms that had to be mailed. To centralize data and improve the member experience, TAS implemented CiviCRM integrated with Drupal 7 and Drupal Commerce.
Using CiviCRM (contact management, contributions, memberships, email marketing, reports, and events) and the CiviCRM Entity module, TAS combined event information and registration pages, enabled self‑service family memberships, and auto‑populated registration forms from related contact records. The CiviCRM solution tied donations, dues, and event signups to single contact records, eliminated paper‑based workflows, reduced staff processing, sped up registrations, and produced higher conversion rates and a unified online experience.
