A CiviCRM Case Study
Stand in the Gap Ministries is a prayer-based, church-driven nonprofit that helps neighbors overcome life challenges. They struggled to make ACT! (a Salesforce CRM) meet their fundraising needs and had no way to allow concurrent users since the database was managed from an admin’s desktop. During planning they chose CiviCRM to integrate with a custom Drupal site and better support online giving, event registration, and newsletter signups.
Donor Depot implemented CiviCRM in three phases: installing and configuring CiviCRM and the payment gateway, publishing an online giving form and training staff, migrating and cleaning ACT! data, and building a custom Drupal theme with additional training. As a result, CiviCRM enabled concurrent user access, seamless Drupal integration for contributions, events and newsletters, online payment processing, and a cleaned, centralized donor database—transforming how Stand in the Gap Ministries manages fundraising and constituent data.
