A CiviCRM Case Study
Refugee Support Network (RSN) supports young people affected by displacement to access and progress in education. Facing a need to centralise contact information and track multiple interactions across staff, volunteers, donors, mentors, mentees and class attendees — with remote access requirements and a very limited budget — RSN adopted CiviCRM (installed and integrated with their Drupal 6 website) to manage volunteer and mentor relationships.
CiviCRM delivered a phased, scalable implementation: integration with the Drupal site, creation of groups, tags and custom fields (for data such as immigration status), and tailored reporting to track stakeholder interactions. The solution gave RSN a centralised, accessible contact and relationship database, improved visibility and reporting across stakeholders, and a low-cost platform ready for the next phase (online donations, event management and remote data collection). CiviCRM provided the scalable foundation RSN needed to manage volunteers and mentors more effectively.
