Python Software Foundation boosts women’s PyCon participation by 20% with CiviCRM

The Python Software Foundation (PSf), a non-profit supporting the Python programming language, used CiviCRM to manage donations and support its outreach programs. A key challenge was fundraising to help increase the attendance and participation of women at its annual PyCon conference.

Using CiviCRM, the PSF managed a highly successful fundraising campaign for its PyLadies outreach group, raising over $30,000 to help sponsor women's attendance. As a result of this and other efforts facilitated by CiviCRM, PyCon saw the percentage of women attendees and speakers reach over 20% in 2013. The vendor's solution helped the foundation effectively manage over $70,000 in donations for its various initiatives.
