Case Study: Community Led Initiatives achieves paperless service-user records and faster reporting with CiviCRM

A CiviCRM Case Study

Paperless database of service users for rehabilitation

Community Led Initiatives (CLI) is a Manchester-based Community Interest Company that supports offenders, substance abusers and their families. Before adopting CiviCRM, CLI relied on paper forms and a manual Microsoft Access workflow that left managers spending up to three days producing stakeholder reports and unable to easily demonstrate impact or expand services.

CLI implemented CiviCRM (deployed and customised by GMCVO Databases) with online intake forms, role-based logins for volunteers and staff, and project-based records. The switch eliminated paper overnight, let volunteers enter data directly (saving hours of manual entry), and turned a three-day reporting task into quick data extracts—helping CLI streamline contract delivery, improve monitoring of interventions, and put the organisation in a stronger position to win new work.
