Case Study: European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) achieves centralized contact management and streamlined mass mailings with CiviCRM

A CiviCRM Case Study

Preview of the European Cyclists' Federation Case Study

One central place for managing all ECF contacts

The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) needed a web-based system to unify and better manage its extensive, inter-related contacts and communications. In October 2014 ECF engaged CiviCRM to import and consolidate four separate databases (a German AlphaOffice SQL export of ~15,000, MailChimp lists of 10,000+, Excel lists including ~2,000 MEPs, and Outlook contacts), set up hosting, provide training, and design seven newsletter templates so its 20 Brussels staff could more effectively manage members, mailings and campaigns.

CiviCRM was implemented (with iXiam consultants) on ECF’s Drupal site, consolidating 25,000+ contacts and replacing MailChimp with CiviMail while leveraging CiviCampaign and CiviEvent for integrated outreach and event management. The solution delivered centralized, web-based access for staff, custom newsletter templates, online forms and payment handling, training and hosting; measurable impacts include a single unified contact database, improved mass-mail reporting via CiviMail, and streamlined campaign/event workflows that provide longitudinal records of interactions.
