Membership renewal made easy with CiviCRM

The Wisconsin Nonprofits Association (WNA) is a statewide membership organization that supports and advocates for Wisconsin’s nonprofits. As membership grew (including 100+ organizational members), WNA struggled with tracking profiles and rolling renewals using disparate Excel files maintained by multiple staff, leading to inconsistent membership status and time-consuming manual updates. WNA selected CiviCRM to streamline online renewals, auto-populate contact data, and integrate membership management into their existing Joomla site.

Deployed on Joomla with CiviCRM’s Membership module, member portal, online directory, Activities, Contacts and Email Marketing, the solution enforces member-only portal access (redirecting expired members to renewals), sends scheduled reminder emails, and centralizes contact and interaction data. CiviCRM eliminated hours of spreadsheet work, automated renewals and reminders, improved member engagement tracking, and freed staff to focus on WNA’s mission rather than manual membership administration.
