A CiviCRM Case Study
ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation, which educates youth on injury prevention, faced fragmented contact and chapter data spread across Salesforce.com, QuickBooks, and spreadsheets and lacked a unified public-facing and chapter-coordination platform. Budget limits made re-integrating Salesforce impractical, so ThinkFirst selected CiviCRM (integrated with a Drupal CMS) to centralize donors, chapters, speakers, corporate sponsors, and grantors and to improve tracking of chapter registration and training.
CiviCRM was deployed to consolidate contact lists and power features such as Groups, Tags, Activities, e‑communication, public chapter directory integration, mailing-label generation, and e‑commerce; Emphanos handled implementation and data import. The new CiviCRM system removed the separation between legacy data silos, streamlined corporate sponsorship and chapter registration, gave staff the ability to manage day‑to‑day operations without expensive consultants, and improved ThinkFirst’s ability to target and move “in‑progress” chapters to full status while better tracking speakers and donors at individual chapters.
