A CiviCRM Case Study
The US Chess Federation, the official governing body for chess in the United States, needed a flexible way to manage a wide range of membership types for players of all ages, along with donations, affiliate permissions, complaints, governance activities, and mass communications. Using CiviCRM, the organization could support individual, family, group, affiliate, and school memberships within one system.
CiviCRM helped the US Chess Federation streamline membership administration and engagement with tools for contact management, contribution pages, event management, bulk messaging, and custom workflows such as voucher-based membership distribution through schools and clubs. The result was a more centralized and efficient platform for serving 110,000+ members, 1,300 affiliated organizations, and supporting more than 10,000 rated tournaments each year.
