A CiviCRM Case Study
George House Trust is a long-established HIV charity in Manchester that had been managing contacts across multiple spreadsheets and needed a donor management system to identify contributors, understand supporter behaviour, and measure which campaigns worked best. After a 16-week review of options, Finance Director Neal Sharpe selected CiviCRM as the core database solution and engaged GMCVO Databases to help implement the system.
CiviCRM was rolled out in April 2013 (with service-user integration added in April 2014) to manage donors, volunteers, staff and service users, and has been extended with SMS messaging, automated reminders and a web-based Referral Pathway that auto-enters referrals and notifies staff. The CiviCRM-based solution helped George House Trust standardise processes while tailoring services, improve referral management and impact measurement, increase response rates (notably via SMS), and give staff greater independence to develop and use their data.
