Event management for fly fishing retreats
Casting for Recovery (UK and Ireland) runs weekend fly-fishing retreats to support women affected by breast cancer. They previously promoted events and handled applications offline—taking email and telephone inquiries and sending paper forms—which was labor-intensive and unwieldy. To streamline this, they adopted CiviCRM, notably using CiviCRM’s events functionality.
CiviCRM was implemented with a new Drupal 7 website that publishes events and lets women apply online, while CiviCRM’s events module manages attendance and waiting lists. By centralizing contacts in CiviCRM, Casting for Recovery saved significant staff time and improved the quality of relationships with the women they support.
