Ecology Action Centre, a Halifax-based environmental nonprofit, needed to fix and configure an existing CiviCRM installation so staff and volunteers could manage memberships, donations and outreach more effectively. The challenge was to prioritize and stage work (must-haves vs. nice-to-haves) within limited time and budget while providing training and customization to meet EAC’s needs.

The Freeform Solutions team configured and customized CiviCRM on Drupal, provided training, enabled online membership/donation forms, automated membership-expiry reminders, and set up mass-mailing, reporting and search tools. As a result CiviCRM helped double EAC’s membership in three years, cut non-renewals by 30%, triple the number of recorded contributions, grow the contact base 10x, increase mailings from 0 to 150 per year, and raise online donations by 30%.
