Case Study: Clore Leadership streamlines online fellowship applications with CiviCRM

Developing an Online Application System for Clore Leadership

Clore Leadership, the UK's first cross-disciplinary leadership programme for the cultural and creative sector, needed to manage heavily oversubscribed, multi-stage online applications for its annual Fellowship and short courses. Working with partner Northbridge Digital, the vendor CiviCRM was used — notably CiviCase within CiviCRM with a Drupal front end — to provide the CRM and case-management functionality required for applicants, nominators and external assessors.

CiviCRM delivered a web portal (users.cloreleadership.org) where applicants save progress and submit only when complete, nominators receive automated invites to provide references, and external assessors score and download application PDFs via custom assessor screens. By centralizing data in CiviCase and adding custom moderator views, CiviCRM automated communications and workflows, enabled staff to monitor application status, and made it possible for Clore Leadership to run multiple programmes and better manage heavily oversubscribed courses with reduced manual effort.
