CiviCRM Meeting the needs of non-profits

Denver Ballet Guild, an arts nonprofit managing roughly 550 contacts, needed to consolidate multiple systems (Access, Mailchimp and a website), maintain an online member portal, manage contacts, membership renewals and event registrations while staying budget‑friendly. They adopted CiviCRM on Drupal to unify those functions but initially faced training and configuration challenges that led them to engage a service provider for predictable implementation, maintenance and support.

Using CiviCRM the Guild implemented an online membership sign‑up and renewal page, automated email reminders, targeted groups/smart groups, and event registration workflows that auto‑place participants into segments; reporting and data export further streamlined administration. The result: improved event organization and last‑minute registration handling, a doubling of participants at the annual luncheon, and a single, affordable system to manage memberships and communications.
